2 oz. rye whiskey
1/2 oz. sweet vermouth
1/4 to 1/2 oz. maraschino liqueur.
Pour ingredients into a shaker with a generous handful of ice. Stir briskly until well chilled. Strain into a cocktail glass and serve.
